Who we are
We’re a family farm and butcher business based in the South Burnett, Queensland. We focus on grass fed and finished beef, pasture-raised lamb and ethically-raised pork that’s grown the natural way so you get real meat from farmers who care about how your food is raised.
Our history
Our family has been farming for 4 generations. Paleo Beef Direct began as a way for us to receive fair prices for our livestock during prolonged drought periods when the cattle prices were extremely low and it was difficult to make ends meet.
While the business has grown over the years, the way we farm hasn’t changed. We raise our animals with care, process in small batches and send everything out fresh so you know exactly what you’re eating and where it comes from.

Our butcher shop
Alongside our farm, we run a small butcher shop Located at Nanango QLD in the South Burnett area where we prepare everything in-house. We work in small batches, make our own sausages and keep the focus on fresh, honest food.
You’ll find gourmet sausages and burgers, premium beef, lamb and pork cuts, house smoked bacon, ham and smallgoods and specialty items . We keep things simple: fresh, not frozen, and handled with care from start to finish.
Our farm and properties
Our cattle, lambs and pigs are raised on our family farms in the South Burnett. Our focus is on good animal management, hands-on care and thoughtful feeding practices that support healthy growth and consistent flavour.
- Our cattle are grass fed and finished for natural flavour and tenderness.
- Our grass fed and finished lambs are Meatmaster crosses, known for their sweet, clean flavour.
- Our pigs are ethically raised in a well-managed, low-density environment with a high-quality diet that includes macadamia meal and mung beans. This careful approach supports good welfare and produces pork with excellent flavour.
We don’t use Bovaer, GMOs, hormones, antibiotics or preservatives. Healthy animals, healthy soil and stress-free handling are at the heart of what we do.
Committed to grass fed & finished
Grass fed and finished means our cattle spend their whole lives on pasture, eating grass the way they’re meant to. We don’t use grain or feedlots, and we don’t push them to grow faster than they should. Animals raised this way stay healthier, live with less stress and produce better meat.
For you, it means beef with a clean, natural flavour and a healthier fat profile. Grass finished beef is higher in nutrients like omega 3s, Vitamin E and Vitamin A, and it browns better in the pan because it’s not pumped full of water or grain-based feed. It’s simple, honest food raised the right way, and that’s something we’re proud to offer.
